Portland Family Photographer
Lifestyle family photography in Portland and throughout the Willamette Valley. Relaxed in-home and outdoor family sessions that focus on real connection. The kind of family photography that ages well.
Most families have someone who ends up holding onto the photos.
The person who saves the albums, keeps the old prints, and cares about remembering what life looked like years ago. These sessions are for those people — a way to document your family as it is right now, before this stage quietly turns into the next one.
It might feel like pictures of an ordinary afternoon. But years down the road, they become reminders of a season of life that passed faster than anyone expected.
What does working together look like?
Family sessions with me are simple and low-pressure. We pick a location that makes sense for your family. Sometimes it’s your home. Sometimes it’s just a place where your kids feel comfortable running around or outside, somewhere beautiful.
Rather than directing every moment, I’ll guide things when needed. Most of the time, we’re just spending time together and letting things unfold naturally. This could include going for a walk, reading a book, playing in the backyard, camping, going swimming, or doing anything else you enjoy doing together.
The result is a collection of honest photographs memorializing your family as it is right now.
Where can we do family photos?
I photograph families primarily in Portland, offering relaxed lifestyle family sessions both in-home and outdoors.
I regularly work with families across Eugene, Salem, Corvallis, Bend, the Oregon Coast, and throughout the Willamette Valley, creating sessions that feel personal to each family’s story.
I’m available for travel throughout the United States and internationally for families who want their sessions documented while traveling or in meaningful locations.
Years from now, these photos will stop feeling like pictures of a normal afternoon.
They’ll become reminders of a version of life that passed quietly into the next one.
Kids grow up.
Parents change.
Houses fill and empty.
Photographs help hold onto the small details that would otherwise disappear.
Whether you’re welcoming a new baby, documenting a season of family life, or simply wanting photographs that feel honest and natural, you’re invited to reach out.

Family Session FAQs
-
Family sessions can take place in your home or at an outdoor location in Portland or the surrounding Willamette Valley. Many families choose meaningful places like neighborhood parks, favorite walking trails, or their own homes where daily life naturally unfolds.
-
Most family sessions last about an hour. The pace is relaxed and unhurried, allowing time for natural interaction rather than rigid posing.
-
The most important thing is that everyone feels comfortable and like themselves.
I’m not looking for perfectly coordinated outfits or strict color palettes. I love personality in clothing — color, interesting textures, vintage pieces, mixed prints, or anything that reflects your style.
If you want help deciding, I’m always happy to look over outfit ideas, help pick pieces, or share a little inspiration.
-
Yes. Lifestyle newborn sessions are typically photographed at home during the early weeks with your baby, focusing on natural interaction rather than heavily posed setups.
-
Many families schedule sessions in spring, summer, or fall, though in-home sessions can take place year-round. Booking a few weeks in advance is recommended, especially if you need a weekend specifically.
