Lifestyle Session FAQs

I’ll give you just enough direction to get things moving, then I’ll step back and let your family be your family. The magic is in the interaction, not the pose.
It’s relaxed. It’s intentional. And it still looks really good.
-
I focus on candid interaction, but I completely understand wanting a few classic portraits, too. If that’s important to you, let me know! I’ll work them in quickly and naturally so it doesn’t turn into a 30-minute posing marathon. I don’t want it to feel like a chore.

A $100 retainer secures your date and is applied to your total.
The rest is due by your session date. If you’d like to split payments up along the way, we can absolutely do that. I know this is an investment, and I try to keep the process as easy and stress-free as possible.
-
Low-pressure. Highly observant. I don’t over-direct, but I also don’t just stand there hoping something happens. I guide you into interaction, then let it unfold. I’m calm, down-to-earth, and I know how to pivot when we need a change of scenery or a shift in energy.
-
Almost everyone tells me this at some point.
Being photographed isn’t a normal everyday experience, so of course it can feel uncomfortable at first. I won’t throw you into it without direction. I’ll guide you into simple movement and interaction so you’re not overthinking every second.
My job is to create an environment where you can relax.
You don’t need to be naturally outgoing or “good at photos.” You just need to show up.
-
Honestly, that’s part of the job.
I’ve worked in harsh sun, dark living rooms, rain, wind, and everything in between. I’m constantly adjusting for light and reading the environment. If the weather shifts, we pivot. If the light isn’t ideal, I adapt. The weather does what it wants. I stay calm. You don’t need perfect conditions for good photos. Some of my favorite images have come from days that didn’t go according to plan.
That being said, a little Pacific Northwest mist? Totally fine. A full-blown monsoon? Probably not ideal. If conditions are truly miserable and we have flexibility, we can absolutely talk about shifting locations or adjusting the date.

Digital galleries are delivered within 2–4 weeks. Film can take up to 6 weeks, and Super 8 up to 10.
I work efficiently, but I don’t rush the creative process. If you’re on a tighter timeline, a rush option is available.

Yes — and I recommend it.
Your gallery connects to a professional lab, so you can order prints that are color-accurate and archival-quality. Digital files are important. Printed photographs last.
If you want help creating an album, I’m here for that.
