NICE TO MEET YOU

I’m a walking contradiction in the best way. One day, I’m knee-deep in my garden, covered in dirt, or digging through estate sales like I’m on a treasure hunt. The next, I’m tearing down the road in my ‘69 Chevelle or weaving through backroads on my motorcycle. I’ll try anything once—sometimes twice, just to be sure.

I’m married to the sweetest guy, the only person patient enough to balance my slightly unhinged ideas with his calm, steady presence. We have two mini Aussies, one bitchy grandma cat, and one overly dramatic fat cat. According to our nieces and nephews, we’ve locked down the title of "coolest aunt and uncle"—honestly, they’re not wrong.

I’ve always felt like I was born in the wrong decade—drawn to old things, old music, and the wisdom of old souls. Few things make me happier than flipping through family photo albums, reading handwritten notes in the margins, and getting lost in grainy memories of bad haircuts and even worse fashion choices—because these little scraps of history? They matter.

MY CEDAR CHEST APPROACH

One of my pandemic projects was sorting through all of the old family photos in my mom’s cedar chest. There were tons of albums from before they were married, baby pictures, family vacations, etc. Every photo, every “pose” was all candid. My parents were the same age I am now, and seeing the photos they intentionally chose to take changed my perspective on photography.

My approach is just that - getting back to cedar chests full of candid memories.

IF OVERSHARING WERE AN OLYMPIC SPORT, I’D AT LEAST GET THE BRONZE.

Here are some random useless facts about me that you didn’t ask for

  • "I’m obsessed with Lucille Ball. Growing up, I Love Lucy was my favorite show (I know, what a weird little kid)—not just because it was hilarious, but because Lucy made being silly, weird, and stubborn something to be admired. If I could channel even 1% of her energy in life, I’d consider it a win."

  • "I’ll never pass up a midday nap. Call it self-care, call it a lifestyle—I call it non-negotiable. (I wish)"

  • "I have a sweet tooth from hell. Would you like a dessert me–-YES"

THE WORK I DO

is how I make sure the good stuff sticks around—the small moments, the big emotions, and everything life tries to blur in between. Time moves fast, and being trusted to freeze it? That keeps me humble. I don’t chase perfection—I chase the moments that would slip through the cracks if someone wasn’t paying attention.

If that hits home (or at least makes you nod in agreement), we’re probably a damn good fit.
